COMMUNITY GROUPS

Gospel Community Groups (sometimes referred to as "community groups" or "GCs") are where our church members live out the truth of the gospel in their daily lives, sharing the joys of fellowship and the sorrows of life. Community groups are usually a collection of 10-15 people meeting in each other's homes to worship, pray, study, disciple each other, establish accountability, and serve in our neighborhoods. Essentially, community groups are where church happens outside of Sunday mornings. Most groups are intergenerational and they come in all shapes and sizes.

There are several goals of Gospel Community Groups:

To Know and Be Known:

It is possible to come and go on a Sunday morning without knowing anyone or really being known by anyone. Community groups offer an opportunity for intentional relationships.

Encouragement and accountability:

The gospel frees us to be honest with each other about our sins and fears. Community groups offer a safe place to do this so we can know that we are not alone as we receive help and hope from those we are growing to love and trust.

Gospel Reminders:

Our tendency is to forget the good news of Jesus almost as quickly as we hear it. Gospel Community Groups provide people who remind us of the gospel throughout the week, and give us the chance to be a reminder to others.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Joining a group is a flexible process that allows you to explore which group is a best fit for you or your family. There are sometimes several factors that you may consider: Geographic location, schedule availability, season of life, phase of spiritual growth and childcare availability to name a few. It is common to visit several groups before settling in with a particular one. Our Community Group Director will help you in finding a group that “fits”.

Please don’t let childcare concerns be a reason for not joining a group. Our church would like our children to be a noted and important part of our Community Groups, so we make every effort to provide childcare funding for different groups.
