"I'M NEW HERE"

A Short Guide to What You Should Know About Faith Presbyterian Church

Welcome

Maybe you are returning to church after time away, or maybe this is your first time. Maybe you are new to town and looking for a church home. Whatever the case, we are glad you're here. We hope that you will come visit us soon. Here are the answers to some common questions people ask when checking out a new church:

What do I wear?
When does Faith meet?
What about my kids?
How do I get connected at Faith?
How do I become a member of Faith?
What are Faith's fundamental beliefs?
Does Faith belong to a denomination?
When does Faith offer communion?

What do I wear?

Faith has no dress code. Feel free to come casual or dressy- we have people who do both. Come in what makes you feel comfortable. Most importantly, we look forward to seeing you, not what you're wearing.

When does Faith meet?

There are two Sunday morning services, at 8:30 and 11:00. Both services are identical in worship and preaching. We also have Sunday School from 9:45-10:45. There are classes for every age group offered during this time.

What about my kids?

We believe that God is passionate about kids and so are we. We consider it a privilege that you would trust us with your children and our number one goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for them to hear about the love of God. On Sunday mornings:

There is Nursery for ages 0-3 available during both services. When you drop off your child(ren), you will be asked to fill out some information. You will then be given a number that corresponds to your child's name tag that you can use when you pick them up.

During the 8:30 service, children ages 4 and older are encouraged to stay with you for the whole service.

During the 11:00 service, children ages 4-1st grade are dismissed after singing for Children's Church. A teacher will be waiting in the back of the sanctuary to walk them to the class. Feel free to walk with your child to meet the teachers and see where they can be picked up after the service.

How do I get connected at Faith?

It can be hard to get to know other people just coming on Sunday mornings. Our hope is that Faith would be more than just a place you come to church, but a family that you call home. There are plenty of ways for you to connect with other people at Faith.

How do I become a member of Faith?

If you would like to become a member of Faith, email the church office and set up a time to meet with a pastor or elder. If you have questions about who Faith is and what we believe, you can set up a time with a pastor for that also. We believe joining a family of believers is an important step so we want to encourage and help you in that process however we can.

What are Faith's fundamental beliefs?

We hold to the historical teachings of the Bible, as outlined in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

Does Faith belong to a denomination?

Faith belongs to the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA is a relatively young denomination, having been formed in 1973. The PCA is committed to the infallibility and authority of the Bible and the primacy of the Great Commission, with our roots in the truths of the Reformation.

When does Faith offer communion?

Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month during both the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services.
