the pastor search process

Bob McAndrew, Faith’s Senior Pastor of 26 years, retired in August 2019. We are honored to have had Bob as our Senior Pastor for so many years, thankful that he gave us a full year to make the transition, and above all else, grateful to God that He, as our perfect shepherd, ministers to His flock through human shepherds like Bob McAndrew and Nathan Parker.

After months of prayer, discussion, and receiving input from the congregation, the Session charged the Pastor Search Committee (PSC) in January 2019 with finding our next Senior Pastor. The Session stated that Faith values the following highly: the gospel, prayer, expository preaching, gospel community groups, personal discipleship, a participatory faith, engaging the culture, and evangelism. Nathan shares all of these values. The Session ranked as its top priority the spiritual development of members, followed closely by proclamation of the Word and evangelism. It also ranked discipleship training, teaching, and congregational communication very highly. The search committee believes that Nathan shares and embodies all of these priorities and can bring them to the benefit of God’s work at Faith.

The Pastor Search Committee evaluated dozens of applicants for this job. After a thorough search of many high quality applicants, the committee was enthusiastic in recommending that the congregation vote Nathan to be Faith’s next senior pastor.

all glory to god

We have so many things to be thankful for. To start, Bob McAndrew's many faithful years of service to Faith that have created a strong foundation on which to continue building this church. The "parade of providence" that so clearly led the Pastor Search Committee and the Parkers to where we are now. The palpable sense of unity at the September 15 Congregational Meeting to vote on Nathan. A devoted Associate Pastor in Steven Brooks who loves us and leads us well. Nathan's desire, gifts, and talents to lead our church.

Praise God with us for providing these blessings and many more, and His gift of a new Senior Pastor!
