Sunday, January 22, 2012 Informational Meeting for Nicaragua Summer Mission 2012

Come hear how you can be involved with the summer trip to Nicaragua at 12:15 (immediately after 2nd service) in the coffee commons. The trip is planned for Friday, July 13, 2012 to Monday, July 23, 2012. There is information about the trip under the "Missions" tab at faithpcachurch.org. Mission Nicaragua 2012

Our team will travel to Vera Cruz, Nicaragua on July 13, 2012 and return on July 23, 2012. We will lodge at Casa Bernabe Orphanage.
 

MISSION STATEMENT:
 

We desire our team to be characterized by Christ-like behavior exhibited through unconditional love, unselfish service, and unified teamwork.

TEAM MINISTRIES:
 

Our projects will be based, in part, on how much financial support the team is able to generate. One of our objectives is to continue working with Prince of Peace church in the Vera Cruz community. We plan to help complete construction of the church’s sanctuary and to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the congregation. We will join with the church to conduct outreach in the community to include distribution of clothing, essential toiletries, school supplies, reading glasses, etc. to families. We will connect with children through sports activities and crafts. We will pray with each family and provide them with a Bible.

We will continue our relationship with Rolando Corazo Orphanage in Managua. Our funds will provide financial support for light construction projects at the orphanage. Specifically, they are in need of assistance with their water supply and storage. In addition, we will have a celebration with the children, and support may also be provided to pay for basic necessities such as food and clothing for the children. Our team will likely spend several days at Rolando Corazo providing labor and interacting with the children. Rolando Corazo is home for approximately 80 boys and girls, newborns to eight years old. In 2007 our team financed a preschool, and in 2008 an infirmary. In 2010 our team worked along side members of Prince of Peace church to paint the preschool.

Through One by One, Inc., we provide financial support year round for children in the Vera Cruz community to attend a private Christian school. This school is located on the property of Casa Bernabe Orphanage. The orphanage is the primary source of support for the school. The children from the orphanage attend this school. By helping more children from the community attend this school, the financial burden of the orphanage is lessened and the blessing of a Christian education is shared. In addition, financial support is provided for children at the orphanage to study English. In past years, teams have provided screens for the doors and windows of the dorms, kitchen, and dining hall at Casa Bernabe. They have no air conditioning apart from opening the doors and windows. Mosquitos are fierce. This year we hope to fund an additional project within our budget.

We have learned from experience that God presents us with new opportunities every time we serve in Nicaragua. We expect nothing less for this team, and so we will keep our hearts open to new partnerships.
 

How you can participate:
 

**Pray for us. Our desire is to do God’s will and to accomplish this we need many prayers, and for our hearts to be open to God’s leading.

**Join our team. Consider if God is leading you to participate as a team member on our trip this summer.

**Be apart of our fund raisers. Keep an eye out as we advertise our many different fund raisers over the next nine months. You can take part in the planning, organization, and implementation of the events, and you can provide your support through contributing financially.
